Educational Opportunities

High School Diploma: Assists adults in obtaining a South Carolina High School Diploma. Students must earn a minimum of 24 credits and pass both parts of the SC Exit Examination.  Students must have at least 16 credits before entering the Adult Education High School Diploma Program.

GED Preparation: Prepares adults for the General Educational Development (GED) test.  Day and evening classes are available.

Exit Exam/HSAP Preparation: Assists adults in passing one or both subsets of the exam. Diploma candidates must pass both portions of the test in order to graduate.

Computer Instruction: Adults receive basic, intermediate, and advanced instruction in using the personal computer and the Windows operating system for everyday functions.

WorkKeys: Adults receive intermediate and advanced instruction in Reading for Information, Locating Information, and Applied Mathematics in preparation for the official internet-based WorkKeys assessment. Candidates who receive passing scores on all three subtests will receive the official Career Readiness Certificate.

Skills Lab (Pre-GED) This course assists adults age 22 and older in building skills in reading, writing, and math. Students are encouraged to take the GED test upon successful completion of the course.

South Carolina Virtual School Program (SCVSP):  This program is a partnership between The South Carolina Department of Education and local school districts. It is designed to help students earn high school diploma credits using free on-line courses.

English as a Second LanguageLearn English as a second language, culture and community understanding.  This is a basic course for non-English speaking persons.
