RNE's PCA Theatre students sweep Theatre Association Festival awards

Columbia, SC:  Students in Richland Northeast High School Palmetto Center for the Arts Theatre program won more awards than those from any other participating school last weekend in the South Carolina Speech and Theatre Association's Festival.

In the preliminary round, RNE took six first place awards. In the final round, RNE won four first place awards, three seconds, and one third.

The event took place at the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg.

The awards and their winners were as follows:

Preliminary round:

First place for Rabbit Hole (Duet Acting): Crystal Stewart and Jasmine James
First place for The Philadelphia (Group Acting): Yotum Almor, Johnny O'Dell,  Jasmine James
First place for Assassins (Group Acting): Elizabeth Stepp, Stephanie Walden, Johnny O'Dell, Rory Gilbert
First place for The Laramie Project (Readers Theatre): Jasmin Wilson, Herman Whaley, Chandler Wienecke, Sheridan Covington
First place for Solo Acting: Bianca Davis
First place for Literary Interpretation: Rashida Beach
Final round (for state awards):
