GAP Choir To Rock Out a Night of Praise

Columbia, SC:  For Richland Northeast High School's much lauded GAP Choir, its annual spring concert is more than just an evening on stage. It's a chance to bring a rocked out night of praise to the Richland School District Two Auditorium. The event will take place on May 17 at 6 p.m., and admission is free.

The enthusiasm of the group's director is palpable - and infectious. "The GAP Choir is an anointed group of young people who enjoy what they do," said Joyce Abel, a Blythewood High School science teacher who has led the group since 2002. "It has been and continues to be an honor to work with them. Each time they perform, they move to a higher level spiritually, vocally, and emotionally."

The first half of the concert will consist of the show GAP presented at its latest New York competition in February and feature a new group of performers, the mime team, and the praise and hip-hop dancers. The second half will reprise the winter concert theme, "Performing Praise Military Academy," and include a skit as well as six gospel selections.
