list of the art lessons and workshops that I know about for Summer 2004.
I will not recommend any one over another and ask that you investigate
and see which suits your needs, personalities and schedule best.

children to art terms, techniques through interactive gallery tours and studio

Animation Institute (ages 12 - 15)
1:00pm - 4:00pm Students are introduced to techniques ranging from frame
animation to digital
editing, and create their own 3D
animations. Students receive a DVD of their finished project. June 28 - 30
Tuition: $75 per student
Figure Drawing Workshop (ages 15 and up)
1:00pm - 4:00pm in this intensive workshop students draw from a live model
using a ‘
wide
variety of media. Working with a team of artist instructors, students
study classical methods for drawing the human figure. June 8
- 10 (Tuesday - Thursday) Tuition: $95 per

Performance Art Workshop with The Power
Company 10:00am - 4:00pm
Open to High School Students
Students learn about this popular
contemporary medium and participate in performance art exercises (not to be
confused with theater). Each student
receives photos and a DVD of their performance. Saturday, June 26 (Lunch
provided.) Tuition: $30 per student
Poetry Initiative Workshop
(6th - 9th graders) 9:00 a.m. – noon
This program focuses on creative expression through oral,
written, and artistic exercises. Activities
in the galleries and studios explore what happens when visual art and
words
meet. The workshop will be lead by poets
from Split-P Soup, a part of USC's Poetry Initiative. July 19 - 23 (Monday –
Friday) Tuition: $95 per student
Pinhole Camera Photography Institute (ages 13 and up)
1:00 - 4:00pm
Students build pinhole cameras and learn
darkroom techniques at the USC Art Department. They also
explore the exhibition There Is No Eye:
Photographs by John Cohen at the Columbia Museum of Art.
July 19 - July 23 (Monday - Friday)
Tuition: $130 per student
