Core subjects, high school credit math and foreign languages, band, orchestra and chorus are yearlong courses.  Exploratory courses are taught 18 weeks.  Within each sixth, seventh and eighth grade level, students are divided into academies.  An academy consists of the four core subject teachers.  Students change classes within their academy.  Students attend their two exploratory courses every Monday and then every other day according to the A-Day/B-Day schedule.

Homework Hotline and Blackboard are two of the many communication tools teachers use to keep parents informed.  Interim reports are issued every three weeks and report cards are issued every nine weeks.

Kelly Mill is enriched with technology.  Classrooms are equipped with computers, an interactive whiteboard and access to wireless laptops, digital cameras, classroom response systems and graphing calculators.  Each academy has a DotCom classroom, which allows one-to-one computing for each student and the use of web and network applications.
