The fourth and fifth grade Lego clubs have been working on their projects since the beginning of the school year.  The theme of this year's projects was NanoQuest.  Students made robots out of special types of Lego that performed missions.  Students also prepared presentations.  The fourth grade did a video called How the Nanoelves Saved Christmas.  The fifth grade performed a presentation demonstrating the use of nanotechnology to clean the ozone of chlorofluorocarbons which deplete the ozone layer.  The competition was held on Friday, January 26, 2007, at the Columbia Convention Center.  The fourth grade came in second place in robot performance.  The fifth grade received second place over all of the teams and first place in robot performance.  The fifth grade team scored over 300 points on two out of three runs of their robot.  The fourth grade also scored over 300 points.
We applaud our LEGO team members and their dedicated coaches for their hard work.  We are proud of each of them.   Congratulations!
