Tim O'Keefe
Second/Third Grades

Tim O'Keefe is the father of 2 boys, Colin and Devin.  He and Heidi have been married for 25 years. He comes from a big family (he is the 6th out of 7 children).  Originally from Indiana, Tim has taught in Michigan, Indiana and now South Carolina.  This school year will be his 27th  year in the teaching profession. His teaching experience includes Head Start through 6th grade in alternative and traditional settings. He has also taught college level courses as an adjunct professor. Tim has published numerous articles, chapters and books on education and learning.  Along with all eligible members of the staff, Tim received his National Board certification in 2001. 
Tim is one of the original teachers at The Center and helped to write the proposal for the school. He teaches in the 2^nd/3^rd grade loop. Music is an important part of his life in and out of the classroom.  Knowing that this magnet school would be a choice for parents and students made it exciting for him. Parents, students, teachers and administrators all working together to do the right thing in education is a dream he has had since he graduated from college.
