Scott Johnson
Second/Third Grades

“It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of the CFI family.  Since the first years of my teaching career I have known from a distance about how special a place this community is and I am thankful I can now call it home.”

Scott is originally from Fresno, CA where he taught inquiry-based, multi-aged classrooms for nine years.  In those nine years, he taught first through fifth grade and was an adjunct faculty member at Fresno Pacific University.  He has been married for four years to Malisa who teaches fourth grade.  They have a three-year-old daughter named Emily.

Three years ago, Malisa and Scott made the decision to move to Columbia so he could begin the Language and Literacy doctoral program at USC.   Since then he has been teaching in the Department of Instruction and Teacher Education working with undergraduates.  Now that he has completed his coursework, he is looking forward to implementing the many wonderful things he has learned in a classroom.
