VISITOR’S
POLICY
Conder’s policy for parents
visiting in the school during the school day is based on our desire to provide a
secure environment for the students and staff as well as an environment
conducive for learning. To insure that this occurs, our practices include the
following:
- Visitors
are expected to report to the main office when they arrive on the campus.
All exterior doors are locked from the outside during the day, with the
exception of the main entrance doors on Hunt Club Road.
- Permission
to go to any area other than the office must be secured from the
administration or the office staff. Office staff members have been directed
to either ask the visitor to wait in the office or direct the visitor to the
classroom, depending on the situation.
- Administrators
or office staff members may deny permission to visit to classroom if they
feel that it is in the best interest of the students and/or staff to do so.
- All
visitors
are to wear a "visitor's pass"
while in the school. Passes are to be returned to the office when leaving
the school. For programs held in the
cafeteria, enter and exit at Brookfield Road doors.
Visitor's Passes are still required and will be issued at the door as the
guests sign in. Please, do not
go to any other areas without checking in at the office first.
- Visitors
have permission to visit only those areas approved by the office staff.
Violation of this could result in a request to leave the campus immediately.
- Visitors
may not photograph, or audio/video tape students without the prior
permission of the principal.
- When
permission has been denied to visit on the campus or when the school policy
has been violated, the visitor will be asked to leave the campus
immediately. Refusal to comply with this request will be reported to the
school resource officer or district security officer.
Visitor
Considerations
Because
having different people come into a classroom may affect time on task, all
visitors will be screened by the principal or office staff.
Whenever possible, teachers will be notified in advance if there will be
a visitor in their classroom.
If
you invite someone to visit in your classroom, be sure that you notify the
office that you are expecting a visitor, who the visitor is, and where the
visitor is to report.
Parents/guardians
who drop by to observe in the classroom are encouraged to stay no longer than 20
minutes in the classroom. Longer
visits may distract students, thereby disrupting the flow of instruction.
All
visitors must report to the office before going anywhere in the building. They
will be given visitor’s passes to wear. If someone comes to your room without
a visitor's sticker, please send them to the office to obtain one.
All staff members are to be aware of visitors in the building and on the
campus. Report all unauthorized visitors to the office.
