Mr. Jeff Williams, Principal I am honored to be working with Bethel-Hanberry Elementary. As an educator for over 20 years, I could not ask for a better community to work with on a daily basis. I have spent my entire career in Richland Two and actually did my student-teaching here at BHE. Our fantastic faculty and staff focus on helping our students find success as we challenge each student in a loving, supportive environment. We would not be a successful school without the dedication of our parents and community. Our building carries a rich history that has been a constant in the Blythewood community for many years.
My wife Angie and I are the proud
parents of Trevor and Kaylee. I thoroughly enjoy having my daughter
attend Bethel-Hanberry. We like to spend our free time with church
activities, participating in a variety of sports and following the
USC Gamecocks. Please visit our school so you can experience the
pride of our BHE Bears!

I am the youngest of three children. I have an older brother and older sister. I am married to my HS sweetheart the lovely Wyona T. Williams. We are both natives of Mount Pleasant, SC. I graduated from Wando HS in 1989. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1993, Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education in 1996 and finally Master of Education in Educational Administration in 2006 all from the University of South Carolina. I am hoping to begin the Ph.D. program at USC very soon, possibly this spring. I worked as a Teaching Assistant at AC Flora HS from 1993-1995. I taught 6th and 8th Grade Social Studies at Alcorn MS from 1996-1999. In 1999 I started teaching at Joseph Keels 5th Grade and 3rd Grade until 2005. I was the Assistant Principal at Blythewood Academy from 2005-2008.
I am excited about being part of the BHE
team. I am an ordained minister. In the church I am a
Youth Minister and Minister of Music. I enjoy singing, working out,
computers, playing cards, bowling (even though I am not great at it),
movies and plays, visiting historical sites and watching a great
basketball game. I am very excited about working at the best
neighborhood school in the state!

Born
in Massachusetts, but raised in Florida, I still consider myself an
“international” girl. Not only have I lived in five different
states, I also lived in Germany while my husband served in the U.S.
Army. I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to visit
France, Holland, Switzerland and actually spent my honeymoon in the
Austrian Alps! I have been married to my husband, John, for thirty wonderful years. His job as the Director of ITT Technical Institute brought us to the Columbia area in 2007. We have two children. Our daughter, Kristen Wilson and her husband, Brandon, have just presented us with our first grandchild, Gage, and our son Michael will marry his fiancée, Tara, this spring. I am very excited about being on the faculty of Bethel-Hanberry Elementary. I knew from the first time I stepped in the door that this school and the community it serves are a special place. Blythewood is definitely a “hidden gem” in Richland Two and I am so lucky to be a part of such an outstanding school and community! |
