Individual Grants for 2007-08

 Spears Creek Road Child Development

 2009 February   Spears Creek Road Child Development lead teacher Sabina Mosso-Taylor, along with teachers Joye Boswell (Lake Carolina CD) and Samantha Truluck (Bridge Creek CD), presented to a group of Pre-K through 3rd grade teachers in Andrews, SC on Early Childhood Language and Literacy.

2008 Spears Creek Road Child Development program earns National NAEYC Accreditation

Spears Creek Road Child Development Program located in Columbia is one of the first early childhood programs to earn accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals.

"We’re proud to have earned this mark of quality and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards," said Sabina Mosso-Taylor, lead teacher of the Spears Creek Road Child Development Program. "NAEYC Accreditation lets families in our community know that children in our program are getting the best care and early learning experiences possible."

2008  Joye Boswell,  Amanda Hammond and Sabina Mosso-Taylor received a  $ 6,000 EIA grant for multiple-genre take home reading packs!

 2008Alice Wofford and Stephanie Prince received a  $4,000 EIA grant for Science!
                      Congratulations to all of these ladies!

 2007 --- EIA Grants went to Alice Wofford for Magnificent Math and Sandy Cromer  for an Alphabet Bird Garden.

 2006-2009    The Exemplary Writing Award was presented by Richland School District II to the 
Anna Boyd Child Development Center

 February, 2007  Anna Boyd Child Development has been named one of four state Exemplary Reading Honor Roll Schools  by the  Southern Division of the International Reading Association .

  • 2006  SC ASCD Award goes to Anna Boyd's Literacy Program from the  South Carolina Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development

  • 2006 SCASCD Program Award for P.A.L.S. for L.I.F.E. ( Preschoolers Achieving Literacy Success , Linking Initial and Future Educational Success.

  • 2005 National Scholastic Early Childhood Professional Award

  • 2003-2010 Red Carpet Award!

  • 2001-2002 School of Promise

  • 2000-2003 and 2003-2006 Received recognition as a school with Exemplary Writing Program

  • 1999-2000 South Carolina Public Relations Association Reward
    for Excellence Program

  • 1999 National Creative 5 A Day Teacher Winner

  • (1996-2001  Distinguished School in Richland School District Two

  • 1997  Healthy School by DHEC (Department of Health and Environmental Control).

  • Being recognized as part of the 1995 Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award from the
    South Carolina Arts Commission.

  • Being the first in the state to earn accreditation by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) in 1987.

  • Maintaining continual accreditation by the NAEYC from 1987 to the present.

      Over the past ten years, the Child Development Program has received  approximately $100,000 in Arts Grants.  In addition, teacher and district grants have provided funds to implement innovative programs that further expand the experiences in science, technology, mathematics, language arts and multicultural education
